Goa Marathon is an annual event organized to raise awareness, provide homes and hope for underprivileged children. This marathon will serve runners of all skill levels; from first time marathoners to veteran runners and walkers. Funds raised through this event will be used to bring happiness and hope to the underprivileged children of Goa in the care of El Shaddai Charitable Trust.
El Shaddai Charitable Trust is a registered, non-profit Charity working in Goa and other States of India, implementing the Child Rights Act 2003/05 for orphans, street children and children coming from economically and socially marginalised conditions. The children are cared for and provided with food, clothing, shelter and education for a brighter future. El Shaddai runs residential Homes, Day Care Centres and Community Centres. El Shaddai also runs cottages for children who have been with us and are now attending universities, colleges, and technical Institutions. Meals on Wheels – Manna Khana is a free food distribution programme implemented by El Shaddai on week days. This programme provides takeaway packets for around 275 underprivileged children and adults living on the streets of Goa.
The slum schools and the slum outreach programmes provide educational facilities and community health camps for the children and women. In addition, El Shaddai also implements outreach projects in the States of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. El Shaddai has impacted over 5000+ children and is currently supporting more than 3500 children in India through its various projects.
